Not Using Keywords in Internal Links and Navigation
Onsite links in a website also have much more importance as the external links have. If your home page has some authority then it will pass that authority to the internally linked page similar in the manner as outside site page rank to your home page. By linking from most powerful pages of your website to the internal pages with keyword-rich links, you’re doing exactly the same process as getting keyword-rich inbound links from high PR pages.
To make the most use of link power, make sure that your navigation consists of keyword-rich, targeted descriptions. Do the same with keywords scattered within content. Don’t worry about your footer; Google doesn’t put much weight on those.
