One of the things that we know being a webmaster, is that the main method to propel a website for top of the search engines is by earning high quality one way back links from high quality sources. And when I say this, I mean  high quality links that come from good sources. Now don’t get me wrong here, it wasn’t that long ago where we used to rely on cheap link networks as a means of getting one up on our competition in the search engines, however these methods are nowhere near as effective anymore. In fact, in a lot of cases, these services can see your website being de-indexed from Google.

There are simply an endless amount of possibilities when it comes to earning one way backlinks. To cut to the pure basics, the most simple way is to simply ask another webmaster for a one way back link. This can come at a cost however, and some webmasters really do not like giving links out to other webmasters. Having said all of this, there are many ways to earn back links, and I am going to talk to you about some of these methods right now.

Article Marketing

By taking the time to create articles for submission on the many article directories that are available online, you can earn back links by simply supplying a one-way back link in the also credit box in your article. As these articles distribute far and wide to other webmasters who are in need of content, you can guarantee that by submitting one article you will receive many one-way back links in return.

Blog Directories

On the Internet, there are thousands upon thousands of blog directories available for you to submit your blog or website to. What this means for you is that by submitting your blog or website to this network, you can earn a quality one way back link, if they approve your listing. You have two options when doing this, you can submit the website yourself, or you can outsource this to another third party who is willing to do the work for you.

Generating Backlinks Through Social Bookmarking

Web 2.0 is the biggest new property on the Internet at the moment, and within the ranks of these new and more interactive properties, there are several of these so-called social bookmarking websites. For the webmaster, what this means is that you are able to share your favorite URLs with other potential visitors. Although the system is not designed for this, you can use it to your advantage when promoting pages on your website, or other related websites.

However, from the experience that I have gained over the years, The most effective method that I have used personally involves approaching other blog owners directly and asking for a back link. This can be as simple as offering them a financial reward in exchange for a one way back link. Of course you would be surprised at the number of webmasters who would say yes to accepting as little as five dollars for a simple one way back link from their blog, in all cases it is as simple as this. “ If you don’t ask you will never know”.
