The Cost For SEO Services

Posted by Editor On October - 31 - 2009

The question comes up often. Many people have been burned by SEO Services, but many have also been rewarded by SEO Services. Like any business transaction or purchase you should only spend your money when you feel comfortable. Your comfort zone should pull from various dependencies, such as how well do you know this business, how long have you been doing business with this person or entity, what is your first impression, how do you personally feel about this person or entity ability to provide this service, and how well have you done your homework. The truth about SEO services is that it is normally not hard work, but that doesn’t mean its easy. It still takes time, dedication, effort, strategy, technique, method, skill, and experience to perform quality SEO services. Anyone can use SEO services because it is within your reach to learn, but not everyone can apply sensible strategy to make SEO work. That is why SEO engineers are needed to accomplish the almost impossible, but the question is how do you know you are making the right choice and not overpaying for SEO services? I can honestly say for the most part SEO service providers are on the up and up who want nothing more than to do professional business and provide quality SEO services. Identifying every shady SEO service may not be possible, but I have some recommended advice which should help anyone get a fair and quality rate for SEO services. – Set yourself a “realistic” marketing budget and goal – Shop around – Don’t buy until you feel comfortable – Remember “cheap does not always mean better” – Ask for references / referrals / portfolio – Verify references / referrals / portfolio – Ask for statistical growth and progress reports Set Yourself a Realistic Marketing Budget and Goal This simply mean do not kid yourself and think you can pay 0 and overnight you will make thousands. Instead, create a budget depending on your marketing needs, competitive industry, projected outcome, and length of time. If you are looking for your website to rank in the Top 10 search engine result page for a particular keyword or keywords then expect to pay in the thousands, often times tens of thousands, for quality, professional, and reliable SEO services, almost always depending on the competitiveness of the keyword. If you want to rank in the top 10 for the keyword “Google”, this in most cases impossible, but I am sure there are some SEO companies who will accept the challenge, but will charge in the thousands if not millions to attempt this insane marketing goal. If you are looking for seo Testimonials on success or even

When it comes to determining all relevant keywords, should we attempt to do it ourselves or is it better to hire someone to perform this mission?

A number of related issues go into the answer to that core question. Some of the most important of those are these:

1. The depth of your knowledge concerning directly and tangently related keywords

2. The various software tools that are available to your company

3. Familiarity with using those keyword research tools

4. Your ability to interpret the results so that you are able to separate the useful words and phrases from those that will have little business significance

5. Your budget

If we look at those five variables they ultimately come down to how much you know and how your budget is allocated. I’ll go into each of those a little more deeply below.

What You Need to Know

Identifying relevant keywords and phrases is as important as any other part of your new business. In fact, it is more important than most of your planning. The lengthy list that you generate is central to all of your marketing efforts in the short and long term. The tactics impacted include your article marketing, your search engine optimization, your paid advertising and your copywriting. The entire future of you business is directly related to the quality of your keyword research.

There are many tools available online. Some are free to use, such as Google’s tool; others are not. It is important to use multiple tools for your research, because results will different based upon the databases that the tools consult and the formulas with which they conduct their searches. You should gather information comparing keyword research software options.

Most of the tools are relatively easy to use, but the interpretation of your results can be difficult unless you have experience in doing so. Not all of the keywords that are uncovered are of equal value to a business, and the number of searches for any given keyword does not automatically make that keyword of greater importance to you particular business than another keyword that draws much less traffic.

Budget

If the amount in your budget for early business development endeavors, this area merits the allocation of its share of those funds. The expense of outsourcing keyword research is relatively small when it is compared to the potential benefit. It is especially useful if the professionals that you hire also provide a competition analysis and include advice regarding how to compete with the established businesses in your market.

Sometimes, although not always, researching keywords is part of an overall search engine optimization (SEO) package. Consequently, if you plan to invest in such a large scale purchase, there is usually no point in buying a keyword or niche research package as well. However, if you choose to go this route (contracting for an SEO package), be absolutely certain that your SEO company will be extremely thorough in its keyword research and that the complete keyword list is included in your report from that company.

Bottom line: You can do this task yourself if you already know a great deal about the process (or are willing to take the time to learn what you need to) and if you have the critical tools.

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization is the art (and science) of bringing a web site to the top of Google and other major search engines for specific keywords that you want to target. Since being on the first page and in the #1 position for your keywords always means more traffic to your web site, it is easy to see why there is such a high demand for effective SEO services today. So, what does it take for your web site to rise to the top of Google? A lot of that is dependent upon the specific industry your business is in. For example, it would be fairly easy to rank #1 in Google if you had a unique service or product that nobody else had in Branson. But if you are wanting to rank well for a keyword like “branson tickets”, it would be much more complicated, due to the sheer number of other web sites that are also trying to compete for that keyword. Just like any other “battle”, the more contestants you have playing, the tougher the competition is going to be. And SEO is definitely a battle – make no mistake about it. The modern-day SEO arena is home to some of the most ferocious Internet and Web-based marketing tactics known to man. The reason for this highly-competitive force is the nature Internet marketing itself. Most businesses have embraced the Internet and World Wide Web as their primary channel for marketing, advertising, and information distribution channels. More and more businesses are trying to gain popularity and showcase what they have to offer to the entire world – not just the locals. And it makes sense. The more people you can reach on the Web, the more customers and clients your business will attract altogether. But still, there are a large number of web sites that only use minimal SEO tactics. And it’s almost shocking when you analyze a web site and clearly see that even text-book SEO elements have been neglected or omitted entirely. These are the same web sites for the businesses that are struggling to make ends meet, especially in the economic turmoil we are facing at the moment. And what about the web sites for those businesses that are actually being prolific, in spite of the economy? Those web sites are the ones that have implemented professional SEO services to gain a better position in the search engines. And they are thriving! It’s a well known fact that if your web site is not listed on the first page of Google, you are missing out on about 70% of all traffic on the Web today. That’s a pretty big number. But it’s very true. If your business is going to be successful on the Web, then you need to invest in a SEO campaign that can bring you all the way to the top. Marketing More Powerful Than SEO

Posted by Editor On October - 28 - 2009

There is a vicious rumor circulating among website owners that search engine optimization (SEO) is the single most powerful förm of marketing on the web. I have my suspicions that this rumor was started by professional search engine optimizers, but I have not yet received my mail-in Nancy Drew kit to reach a definitive conclusion. All the same, it might be best to not share this information with any professional SEO who is trying to win your business.

The truth, however, must be told – SEO” href=”http://trafficrocketblog.com/category/seo“>SEO is not the best marketing for your website. To those of you who are professional marketers, this will not come as a surprise, but SEO takes a backseat to the real king of marketing. Unfortunately the mystique of Google, complete with their daily updates and rumors (I heard that Larry Page has been parting his hair on the other side this week – a pagerank update must be near!), has gotten so many website owners Googley-eyed that they are missing the real marketing gem that we should all be aiming for.

Buzzing Over Your Website

Marketers know that there is one thing that will bring more salës for a website than a well-optimized site could ever bring: buzz. This has also been called viral marketing or passive marketing, but unfortunately both of those phrases have been used so much that they lack their own buzz-power, and as a result we often look away when someone mentions viral marketing.

There is no real secrët to viral marketing – the secrët is to do just what the name says: create a buzz. You want people to talk about your website, to let others in on their secrët which is your website. You want those that learn about you to have a sense of excitement, a sense of privilege, a sense that only you can offër what they are seeing. You do not want to resort to calculating CPM rates, optimizing PPC campaigns, or working tirelessly on optimizing your website for some algorithm that is likely to change in a month – you want others to market your website for you.

And that is just what viral marketing is – it is the process of getting others to market your website for you.

Examples of Successful Viral Marketing Campaigns

Fortunately there are several examples of viral marketing campaigns which we can look at for inspiration. Some of these may be unrealistic for our unique needs, but we can take away principles from these campaigns which will teach us more about viral marketing.

Xbox 360

When Microsoft released the Xbox 360 in November of 2005, they attempted to do their first world-wide distribution rather than staggering the distribution to help supply keep up with the demand for the new gaming console. Their worldwide distribution, however, fell far short of their goal of getting an Xbox to everyone in the world that wanted one. The result was that the new units quickly sold out in most stores even while hundreds of people waited to get their own gaming box.

The perceived scarcity created a buzz that fueled eBay auctions and news stories about the new Microsoft product. Most eBay auctions sold at a tidy profít, and sold quickly.

The news died down once the intial wave of scarcity passed, but while there was a perceived scarcity in the product, and while hundreds of people waited in line for their Xbox, the Xbox was news. People, who may not have had any desire to buy the product, talked about it, became familiar with it, and shared their opinions on the issue.

From this scarcity – and the extreme demand for this product, buzz was born.

Gmail

Admittedly, anytime Google so much as moves a corporate pinky, they create buzz. But of all the examples of viral marketing I have seen in the past several years, none seem to match up to the buzz that Gmail created when it was released.

Gmail was released just as the SEO industry was ramping up for what was being dubbed as the ’search engine wars’. Yahoo had recently announced that they were ditching their Google results in favor of the newly acquired Inktomi indexing engine, and MSN also threw in their hat with an announcement that they would become rivals of the rising Google.

In what was perceived to be a response, Google released Gmail. Gmail had buzz written all over it. The timing of the release appeared to be a direct jab at Yahoo. The record breaking disk space offered with each account was itself newsworthy, and the fact that you could not get it unless you were offered a special invitation all worked together in a way to make Gmail one of the most desirable invitations on the web.

And this was a key point – Google gave people the opportuníty to feel special. Those who had the first invitations were in a special club – a club that affirmed their place of importance in the world of Google. They were the first adopters, the first people to accept a hot product from a hot company.

Buzz-worthy? Absolutely.

Viral Videos

A development in the past few years as Internet connection speeds have increased is the advent of viral videos. We have all seen viral videos – Brokeback to the Future, Why Macs Suck, Russian Climbing (wait until the second minute of this video before it gets good), Japanese T-Shirt Folding, or even a cool commercial for a Honda, viral videos have a tendency to get passed around.

I don’t think this point needs to be made too much – if you watch these videos, chances are pretty good that you will forward one on to your friends, family, or associates if you have not yet seen it. These videos are funny, amazing, useful, or simply awe-inspiring enough that we want to share them with others.

Anatomy of Viral Marketing

There is no shortage of examples of viral marketing in action – any time you learn about a website by word of mouth, through a blog entry, or through a genuine link on another website, you are participating in viral marketing. With all these examples of viral marketing, it becomes fairly easy to breakdown several aspects that seem to make web pages ‘buzz-worthy’.

Buzz-worthy Sites Stroke People’s Egos

Everyone likes to be ‘in the know’, to be a first adopter of a product that everyone eventually comes to love. If you know some of the first adopters of Apple’s iTunes system, you know what it is like to know a first adopter and how much pride they take in being able to spot a wínner before anyone else.

Buzz-worthy sites, like Google’s Gmail, create an exclusive club that both affirms its members and creates a stronger demand. They create news, create conversations, and create envy on the part of those who are not so beneficial to be a part of the first adopters.

Being one of the first to discover something that everyone will enjoy or find useful, or being one of the first to be invited to an invitation-only club, is an honor. It strokes our ego, and if you want to get people interested in you, stroking their ego is a great start.

Buzz-worthy Sites Promise to Amaze

If you want to create an initial buzz about your website, you need to get people excited enough to talk about your website. The only way you can do this is to promise real amazement, real insight, real controversy, real humor, or any mix of these attributes. The Xbox 360 was touted to be the first in the line of several releases of the next generation of game boxes. Gmail was promised to be an email system like none we had ever seen (and with more space than ever offered). Viral videos promise to show you something that you have nevër seen before, and that will either make you laugh, cringe, or shake your head in amazement.

Buzz worthy sites need to stand out from the crowd of competing sites. There are millíons of websites all asking for our attention, but those that get the attention are able to create a message that is unique, useful, appealing, and attractive.

Buzz-worthy Sites are Original

In order to be buzz-worthy, you must first create something that people are going to feel as if they ‘discovered’. No one is going to talk about something which has already been discovered or which everyone knows about. People talk about things which they have nevër seen before, things which are particularly useful, particularly funny, or particularly insightful.

The Xbox 360 is the first of the new gaming consoles. Gmail was the first to offër a full gigabyte of disk space.

Buzz requires that people see something for the first time, are promised amazement, are amazed, and get the ego-stroking feeling that they have just discovered something great.

Considering Buzz for Your Business

Practically applying buzz to your website is not easy. Although viral marketing is by far the most powerful förm of marketing available to website owners, it is not an easy thing to create. Even if you devise the most buzz-worthy creation, you may find that in practice it just does not seem to resonate with the general public.

You may also decide that viral marketing is not the best thing for your business. Viral marketing, unlike other marketing which is fairly easy to control, can quickly grow out of control. If you happen to be successful with viral marketing, you may find that you are not able to meet the new demand that you see for your products or services. Viral marketing, once released, becomes its own beast outside of your control.

Those concerns aside, most businesses would love to have a viral aspect to their website. Consider today what you could create that would create a buzz in your industry. Is there a tool that you could offër for frëe that no one else is offering? Is there an opinion that you have that is original and insightful? Is there a free service that you are willing to offër?

Viral marketing is, ultimately, the greatest förm of marketing. Not only does it produce incredible results, it is also an affirmation that what you are doing is worthy of praise – enough praise that people are willing to talk about you to others.

Keyword Research and Analysis Strategies 1, Overview

Posted by Editor On October - 28 - 2009

Good SEO” href=”http://trafficrocketblog.com/category/seo“>search engine optimization experts perform extensive keyword research and analysis prior to starting any SEO campaign. Much like PPC marketing, obtaining a large líst of related keywords gives a search marketer the opportuníty to select the most profitable and high traffíc terms. Without a large líst of keyword phrases, choices for optimization are slim and probabilities for success decline along with it.

Armed with a good research tool (which is usually a paid version), a SEO collects a large subset of related terms in a líst and analyzes the competition levels for the ones with higher search traffíc first. It is important for web marketers to understand that keyword research tools are not perfect in their data by any means. This is because many of the search tools available gather data from meta search engines. Unless the search tool is directly linked to the actual search engine database and outputs data in it’s entirety, there is always room for possible error since the data collection method is not perfect in itself. For search engines to provide direct access to this data without limitations would be any SEO’s dream come true. This, however, is unlikely to happen because the potential for abuse is just too high.

There are two ways keyword research tools may not report completely accurate data. First, your tool of choice may output incorrect daily or monthly search traffíc. Second, it may not líst other keywords that are actually being searched for. Just because the data isn’t perfect doesn’t mean it isn’t useful. We can still deduce relative search traffíc strengths from the numbers given so you can feel reasonably safe, in general, when viewing traffíc potential on relative terms.

Great SEOs, though, are not only looking for the most targeted and relevant search terms but are also seeking keywords and search phrases that have a decent chance of getting ranked in the search engines. Like any marketplace, there are gaps and opportunities which competent SEOs will seek out before expending a large amount of resources on optimizing similar good search phrases. This is because similar, yet relevant, search terms have varying levels of difficulty and competition levels. After collecting a large subset of related terms in a líst, a SEO analyzes the keyword competition levels for the ones with higher search traffíc first.

For websites starting their optimization, it is highly recommended the internet marketer goes after the low-hanging fruit. Why? This simply means to quickly rank for terms with the least competition levels and reasonable traffíc volume. Many inexperienced to the SEO game, naturally lean towards the highest search traffíc terms first. This is the single biggest mistake newbies make and sets them up for failure before the SEO campaign even gets started.

Let’s say you sell diamond jewelry. An amateur would go for “diamond jewelry” as their first target since this keyword yields a higher number of searches. In most cases, however, the keyword which is the most intuitive is not the one to go after because it is the most generic term for that product. Rather than going after “diamond jewelry”, you have a choice of related terms such as “black diamond jewelry”, “blue diamond jewelry”, “discount diamond jewelry”, “blue diamond wedding jewelry” and so on.

Of course, you’d generally only optimize for products you actually sell so as to íncrease salës conversion and not mislead your visitors. Thus, if you don’t offër “blue diamond jewelry”, you don’t want to go after it unless your expertise as a diamond retailer tells you that black diamonds are far superior to blue diamonds and you are attempting to sway potential buyers of blue diamonds to black diamonds as a strategy.

With a more straightforward approach to optimization, these search terms “black diamond jewelry”, “blue diamond jewelry”, and “discount diamond jewelry” show significantly lower search numbers relative to “diamond jewelry”. These keyword phrases are considered tier two search terms. Jewelry and diamond jewelry are considered tier one search terms.

For most niche markets, optimizing for more specific terms and directing the visitor to the related subpage of the website converts a whole lot better than general terms. Therefore, it is a great strategy to go ahead and optimize for these tier two keywords (after you’ve confirmed the competitiveness of the keyword search phrase). By building up traffíc for the a bígger basket of lesser competitive terms, you will be able to have the equivalent traffíc levels as if you were going after one or two difficult search terms. You’ll reach your goal of getting higher search rankings faster and with less resources.

There is also another benefit many fail to realize. Notice also that the terms above have the base term “diamond jewelry” in them. As an experienced SEO company, we have found that you are getting credít for the base term even though you aren’t specifically going after it in your inbound anchor link text.

Furthermore, in terms of business cashflow, it is going to be much easier to rank the lower search traffíc terms first and therefore start getting some sales to generate more profít that can be channeled into the tougher key phrases. Rather than hoping to rank a tougher search term which usually takes longer and costs more, it makes sense to generate profits that can be applied towards further aggressive Internet marketing and ensure that your pool of marketing funds don’t dry up before getting higher search engine rankings. Once you reach the top ten rankings for the tier two or tier three search terms, your attempt to rank your website for tier one terms, jewelry and diamond jewelry or even gold jewelry, will be an easier climb to the top.

We’ll cover how to perform detailed keyword and competition analysis in part two of this article. In the meantime, here are some useful frëe online keyword tools for starters (search for these terms specifically and the top result will be what you’re looking for):

It’s an unfortunate fact – no matter how good your search engine optimization company or in-house talent is, brand new websites have a more difficult time achieving search engine success for competitive phrases than their older counterparts, particularly on Google. However, the worst thing that a new site owner can possibly do is presume that they are “too late to the game” and decide not to pursue this marketing channel at all. A good search engine optimization company should be able to effectively work with a new website; setting the foundation for a remarkable success story while still achieving steadily increasing short-term benefit.

The Issues

There are many reasons why new websites face an uphill battle. What follows are only a few of the major stumbling blocks:

The Google Sandbox

There is much debate as to what exactly the Google Sandbox is, and even debate as to whether it actually exists. However, recent patent filings on behalf of Google would seem to confirm that one of the factors that Google will take into consideration when deciding how websites should rank is the age of the domain name. More than one search engine optimization company has noted that there seems to be a penalty assessed to new websites, especially those that seem to gain too many inbound links, too fast. This is all conjecture, but this would make sense. Inbound links factor largely in Google rankings, and therefore many sites that were already popular in Google began selling links from their sites based upon that popularity (a practice that goes against Google’s terms of service). However, text link buying is very hard to police. The Sandbox makes sense in this scenario, because Google seems to be saying “we may not be able to stop people from buying text links, but they are going to pay a pretty penny for them before we’ll give them any ranking boost because of them.” This is more conjecture, of course, but it is a popular theory in numerous search engine optimization forums.

Lack of Links

Unfortunately, here, a new website is faced with the opposite problem. Links to new websites are called into question, but without incoming links, a new website has a slim chance of performing well on Google. This Catch-22 is obviously a sore spot for many owners of new websites.

Trustworthiness

For many years, a common search engine optimization company strategy was to set up numerous new websites all for one company, each geared toward targeting a different search term. This was largely due to the fact that search engines used to place a much higher importance on the home page of a website, rather than interior pages. Over time, search engines caught on to this trick, and as a result new domains are now looked at more skeptically. The prevailing wisdom seems to be that while it is relatively easy and inexpensive to set up a new website that targets a certain term, a website that has been around for much longer and has a breadth of content has much more to löse and is less likely to attempt to “game the system”.

The Solutions

Does this mean that you shouldn’t hire a search engine optimization company to work on your new website? Not at all. In fact, it is in the very beginning of your website planning that a long-term strategy should be put into motion – a strategy that still offers positive results in the short term.

Before You Build

It is important to get your search engine optimization company involved as early as possible before you build your new website. Not only are there many technical issues that you should be aware of before you begin design (such as linking architecture, types of text to use, and balancing your SEO” href=”http://trafficrocketblog.com/category/seo“>SEO efforts with your brand), but there are also strategies that can be set in motion at the outset that will counteract some of the stumbling blocks listed above. If you involve your search engine optimization company after you have built your new website, much of the work you have done will likely need to be redone with a long term strategy in mind.

Targeting Appropriate Phrases

A good search engine optimization company will tell you that targeting highly competitive phrases with a brand new website can be an exercise in futility. However, this does not mean that you cannot achieve initial success on search engines. The trick is to target less competitive phrases at the outset, and to begin tackling the more competitive phrases later. For instance, let’s assume that your company makes custom widgets, and that “custom widgets” is a very competitive search phrase. A search engine optimization company working on your new site might recommend that you instead target less competitive variations of the term, such as “custom made widgets” or “custom widget manufacturing.” Since these terms are less competitive, you will be more likely to obtain high rankings for them with your new website. You can thus enjoy highly targeted traffíc in the beginning of your campaign and eventually target more competitive and popular phrases as your site gains traction, quality inbound links, and a reputation for usefulness.

Make Your Site a Resource

A quality search engine optimization company will encourage you to turn your new site into an industry resource. You can do this by providing educational content about your industry in the form of articles, whitepapers, and other forms of non-biased content. There are many benefits to this approach, one of the primary being that such content attracts inbound links without any effort on your behalf. In addition, such a resource area builds your credibility in the eyes of your potential customers and serves to educate them in all stages of the buying cycle, so that when they are ready to make a purchase, you will likely be first in mind.

Build Links

While making your new site a useful resource is a great way to attract inbound links, this does not mean that you shouldn’t also be seeking them out. Your search engine optimization company should get your site included in many general directories (such as the Yahoo directory and Business.com) but, even more importantly, in directories that are specific to your industry. Not only do these links help to boost your search engine rankings over time, but they are also a quality source of targeted traffíc.

Keep Your Content Fresh

A search engine spider will revisit your site frequently if your content continues to íncrease and evolve frequently. A site that has been optimized for three years with no changes to its content will usually not fare as well as a site that has content which is consistently updated. It’s as if the search engine is saying “Well, this old stuff still looks good, but it certainly isn’t the newest stuff out there about this topic.” This so-called “freshness factor” can have a large impact on rankings, particularly with new websites.

Although it may seem that achieving search engine success with a brand new website can be a daunting prospect, it needn’t be if done properly. Hiring a skilled search engine optimization company is a good first step. There’s little use in lamenting the difficulty before you, or feeling that you have already fallen too far behind to begin. As an old Chinese proverb reminds us, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.”

Work More Efficiently With Basecamp

Posted by Editor On October - 26 - 2009

Those who work on multiplebasecamp projects with several clients and team members know how difficult it can be to keep communication streamlined and stay on track throughout the duration of the project. In the past, there would be phone calls flying back and forth with notes scribbled on a notepad or transcribed into a word document. Then came email, and files upon files would be filled with emails that had been printed out or those emails sat in files on computers that were quickly overloaded.

Now you can ease the stress of project management by implementing the tool that is Basecamp. Using this collaboration tool, you will be amazed at how easy it is to facilitate smooth transitions between several projects at one time, even when there are several team members involved in each project!

Key benefits to Basecamp are file management, features and flexibility. Files can be easily uploaded to the specific project in which they belong with notices being sent to those who need to receive the file. Basecamp offers all the features busy managers need and doesn’t overwhelm you with features you don’t need. Your Basecamp profile can also be customized to your project and company! Using the message boards, communication between team members is facilitated and encouraged through ease of use. These benefits combine to give project management a whole new direction.

Using Basecamp’s Dashboard, you can get an overview of each project you’ve got stewing. On this page, you will be able to track milestones and deadlines as well as see new messages and files.

What busy managers may appreciate the most is their ability to create To-Do lists and milestones that will keep team members on track. Placing such items in Basecamp instead of simply sending a memo or email to team members is a better way to ensure work is monitored daily by all involved in the project.

You can also track time on Basecamp based on the To-Do lists you have created. Tracking time is as easy as clicking on the Time icon in Basecamp and then choosing a date when work was completed, the person who completed the task, and the task that was completed. This information is then saved in Basecamp but can also be exported in comma separated format into excel. Time tracking can be built right into the To-Do list by clicking Edit on the To-Do list and enabling the time trackindashboardg function. When you do this, a clock will be displayed next to each task on the To-Do list and time can be entered by clicking on the clock.

In addition to having the ability to send messages and create easy to follow threads in the message board, Basecamp also provides a chat feature. This feature is in real time and is widely used for Q&A with team members and clients at the beginning and end of a project. Even if you do not utilize the Chat feature, the Message board with threads can contain all pertinent information and allow communication to remain consistent throughout the duration of your project.

“Basecamp takes a fresh, novel approach to project collaboration. Projects don’t fail from a lack of charts, graphs, stats, or reports, they fail from a clear lack of communication. Basecamp solves this problem by providing tools tailored to improve the communication between people working together on a project.”

Google Search Based Keyword Tool

Posted by Editor On October - 26 - 2009

Googles search based keyword tool is great for finding better paying adsense keywords for a website!  You an put in your website url and google will give you a list of keywords and the ppc value of each of them.  Check it out here: http://google.com/sktool/#

The tool works best with websites associated with your google adsense account.  It will still give you results if the website is not associated with your account but the results are more limited.

The tool does however work really well with foreign language sites.  Having tested it on a few of my Spanish websites I have found that it provides a pretty good list of suggested words for adsense purposes.

Whether you are looking to start an internet business or you already have one established there are a number of tools that Google offers you to help you maximize your marketing efforts. One of these tools that can really help any online business owner is the Google Keyword Tool. This tool gives you access to thousands of keywords that are related to your business and shows you how competitive the advertising is for them and how much search volume they receive. You can even sign on to an external keyword tool without even having a Google account. All you need to do is go to the following link https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.

The Google Keyword Tool provides you with a great starting point for your SEO marketing strategy. You can simply type in a keyword that relates to your business and the tool will provide you with detailed information on that keyword and give you a ton of other related keywords to help you capture more customers. If you are currently only writing content or articles for one or two main keywords you are missing out on hundreds, if not thousands, of searchers a day that may use other related terms. It is simple, by compiling a larger list of keywords that relate to your business you will be able to attract more shoppers and make more sales.

You can generate a list of keywords by words alone or by searching existing website content. If you have a good idea of the keywords related to your type of business you can use the word search and get a huge list of keywords that you may not have even considered before. If you are just starting out with your online business you can select the website content search method and see what keywords are related to other websites that are already online. Both methods can be very helpful in giving you a broader range of keywords that you can use to build your Adwords campaigns and your SEO strategy.

If you already have a Google Adwords account, you can find the keyword tool by going to My Account, clicking on Adwords and then looking under the Tools menu. This option gives much more detailed information about the different keywords that can be used for your business. For example, it shows you the search trends throughout the year. This is a great tool because it shows you which keywords are the most popular each month of the year. This can help you with budgeting or to find other related niches that can help you supplement when search volume for your keywords tend to fall. It also provides you with the average CPC for each keyword and shows you which month in the past year produced the highest search volume.

As you can see the Google Keyword Tool is really a tool that no internet business owner should miss out on. It contains tons of priceless information that can truly help you grow and expand your online presence. If you take a bit of time and really analyze the data it provides, you can really transform your business.

Strategic Internet Marketing

Posted by Editor On October - 26 - 2009

Even during times of recession when it seems like many major companies are focused on downsizing, you can grow your business in such a way that it will thrive once the good times begin rolling again. The internet marketing strategies that you engage in over the next several months will lead you right down the path you want.

Consider this: more than two thirds of all consumers visit the Web for when seeking information on their desired type of product or service. It is due to this reason that the majority of companies have switched their marketing gears over recent years. However, that does not mean that one should focus solely on internet marketing techniques to build their business. Press releases in your local paper and of course stellar customer service are still good ways to grow your clientele.

Email marketing is a strong strategy, especially when the target audience is prior customers or those you may have met at market fairs of some sort. People who have willingly given you their email will be more likely to peruse a usable newsletter full of tips and information that will help make their lives easier. Remember, when you have something of value to offer, your word will be read.

At a time when people are seeing less revenue generated, it may seem like the time to abandon costly pay per click campaigns. I wouldn’t necessarily say stop this practice altogether, because you want to maintain high visibility. However, slower times can be the best times to review and analyze the pay per click campaigns and Adword campaigns you are running. Minimizing to very focused terms may help you gain more relevant and qualified traffic.chart

In fact, investing some time in really taking a good look at all of your internet marketing strategies can give you a good picture of what is really working for you and what is not. Change is inevitable and making changes will definitely be a necessity for you at some point in time. Looking at results from your current efforts should show you the direction you want to focus on in the coming months, and will also show you mistakes you have been making. Mistakes are wonderful learning experiences if you grow from them.

For instance, if you have been submitting articles to directories for the past year and you’re not seeing much traffic come from them, consider changing the location of these articles. Perhaps the same articles would receive more attention if placed in a blog relevant to your niche product or service. Perhaps you need to look at outsourcing blog writing to someone who has the time and expertise to read and respond to blog posts on your behalf. Perhaps creating articles for Squidoo and Hub pages is the way to get more exposure in a social networking manner. The real point is that if you try looking in different directions for your internet marketing, you just may be surprised by some astounding results.
